1970 Wauquiez Centurion - FOR SALE


This 1970 Wauquiez Centurion sailboat was built in France and brought to the United States to compete in the early SORC races.  Following a number of racing seasons it was refurbished and converted to costal sailing in Florida where it remains.  The boat handles extremely well.  Forces are light on the helm which suggests the boat is properly balanced relative to it’s center of effort.  It has a length of 32 feet 7 inches, a beam of 10 feet and a draft of 5 feet 10 inches.  Powered by a Volvo Pinta inboard diesel engine which starts fast and runs strong.  Two twin births and one single birth sleeps five comfortably.  During the summer of 2018 the boat was hauled for three months for extensive hull maintenance.  This included painting the sides as well as bottom coating below the water line, installing new teak rub rails and engine work.  Pitman Yacht Sales in Tarpon Springs, Florida did the work for $19,636.86.  Invoices are available for your review.  Instruments include a wind gauge (direction, speed, etc.), GPS navigation, depth sounder, auto pilot steering and more .  The boat is loaded with upgraded extras including 36 gallons of fresh water, fresh and salt water shower capability, two teak tables, cushions for the bunk and helm and 13 different sails to accommodate all wind conditions and much, much more.  The anchoring system is an FX 37 aluminum Fortress anchor with chain, nylon rope and anti-chafing gear.
